Shop Online, Get Cashback!

Every now and then I come across some great tips for saving while shopping- here's one that I'm excited about, thought I'd share! :)

Like most of you, I love getting new makeup! But of course, it adds up, so any discount I can get, I usually take! So you bet that I'm really excited about Bing Cashback, a service from the relatively new bing.com, which refunds a small percentage of your online purchases. Unlike a discount code that automatically reduces your checkout price, this refunds a certain percentage of your purchase into your bing.com account AFTER you have checked out. When your account reaches at least $5, you can have your money transferred to your bank account, paypal, amazon, or opt for a physical check. However,  the site states that it may take a bit to get your first deposit (up to 60 days), so be patient at the get-go!

I signed up the other day after learning that bing.com offers 10% cashback on Sephora purchases. That means Sephora's upcoming 15% off sale is actually 25% when you shop through Bing! So, if you were planning to purchase online anyways, it may behoove you to sign up with Bing.com. Also, I bought a couple of MAC items from Nordstrom.com yesterday, and was surprised to find an e-mail in my inbox today from bing.com saying that I earned 4% cashback- and I didn't even start my purchase process at bing! I just went straight to Nordstrom's site! So it's pretty smart, this bing thing. :)

Anyways, I don't get any incentives or rewards for telling you about this, but I figure if you are already shopping at major online retailers, it is nice to get a bit back- if nothing else, at least it covers tax or shipping charges. :) Also, I should mention that maccosmetics.com does not participate in Bing cashback, but other retailers such as Macy's and Nordstrom DO participate.

Review: Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara

Photobucket

So, I have tried a lot of mascaras out there, from high-end brands like Dior and MUFE, to mid-range brands Clinique and MAC, and of course, drugstore brands like yours truly, Maybelline. I have to say that although the high-end mascaras generally do what they claim, I think I prefer drugstore brands such as Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara. Why? Find out behind the cut!

New Shades for Bare Minerals!

I know my posts have been a bit uneventful lately, and I promise I will be updating with more product reviews soon! But I did just discover something really exciting for you Bare Minerals fans-- the company has added 5 new shades to their lineup! The new shades are:

-Golden Fair (for the fairest porcelain skin with yellow-olive undertones)

-Fairly Medium (for light-to-medium skin with pink undertones)

-Golden Tan (for medium-to-tan skin with subtle yellow-olive undertones)

-Warm Dark (for dark skin with deep yellow-olive undertones)

-Warm Deep (for deepest skin with intense yellow-olive undertones)

This is such great news for me, because as much as I love Bare Minerals, I've never been able to find the perfect shade. I have jars of Light, Fairly Light, Medium, and Medium Beige, but either they were too light and washed me out, or they were too dark, making me look...like crap! :P But I am truly stoked to try out Fairly Medium, as it sounds like the perfect shade for me- light to medium skin with pink undertones? Present!

It's so funny too that last night a BE informercial popped on TV, and they were advertising their 100% perfect match guarantee. I kinda scoffed at it because over the past 3 years of using BE on-and-off, the color matching has always been my biggest beef with their product. I have always been frustrated that they don't have more shades, so this is just exciting for me!

What about you, are you BE fan?

PS: If you find that the traditional BE finish is too shiny, but the matte is too dry/chalky, I recommend mixing the two finishes. It's pricey because you have to buy both jars, but it will last you double time, and the finish is perfectly gorgeous. BE, take note for your next foundation finish! :)

Haul Alert/I'm Crying Inside...

...because I just spent WAYYYY too much money on internet makeup buying! *Cries*

Haha no, I'm absolutely excited, I just placed orders at:

-Sugarpill (I got the Burning Heart quad, Sweetheart quad, and Lumi & Goldilux loose eyeshadows)

-Glamour Doll Eyes (the Twi-Shadow collection, and samples of Apple Martini, Sex Appeal, Hello Brooklyn and Royal Assassin)

-Tarte Cosmetics (2 Clean Slate primers and Cheek Stain in Tipsy)

Ok now someone please take the credit card away! :P Oh and the reason I ordered at Tarte today, is that because it's April Fool's Day, they have a (no joke!) 40% sale. Just use code: APRILFL. It is today only!

As horrible as this is for my credit card, I am so excited to get all this stuff in my hands! And you know as soon as that happens, I will be sure to post reviews for it all. :) In the meantime, be sure to check out my review of Tarte's Clean Slate Primer from a few months back. It's pretty much the shiz.

What about you, what are your recent hauls??
